Vitamin C-rich rosehips could provide new ways of tackling a range of inflammatory diseases, according to a Danish study. The study of men and women with arthritic hips, knees or hands who took a rosehip supplement for three weeks revealed that more than 80% reported a major reduction in pain, and were able to halve their intake of painkillers.
Other recent studies have indicated that extract of rosehip could improve movement and reduce pain in patients with osteoporosis, while experts now believe it can be used to alleviate rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease and even heart disease.
