Butterflies

It was difficult to take photos of these lovely butterflies because every time I focused my camera to them, they will quickly fly and hop to another flower. These photos were taken at my province at Batangas City, Batangas. It was early summer that time and I'm glad there were many big and beautiful butterflies that were visiting our garden.

Because the butterflies need to harvest sugar in these flowers

Beautiful colour in these butterflies in deed

Yep--nectar. They don't lay their eggs on these food sources though, they only do that on a "host" plant--one that provides food for the caterpillar. Caterpillars eat the leaves, not the flowers.

Watch them unfurl their proboscis to eat if you can--it is incredible how dainty, yet sturdy butterflies are! And difficult to photograph!!

You've just caught the butterflies in the act. Beautiful and stunning colors! I like the blurred background and how the focus motive becomes sharp.
