Unforgettable experience about Grasshopper

I had an unforgettable experienced about a grasshopper. I actually have a slight fear of grasshopper and I don’t want them to fly on me. The story happened a year ago while I am watching a television in our hometown. It’s an adult green grasshopper that came into our house and was very much attracted with the small insects near the light in our ceiling. The grasshopper stopped about one foot away from me. Then, I cautiously staring at it and I’m thinking what if that grasshopper had hopped into my face, what should I do? You know what happened after a few seconds? It occurred exactly to me! What a coincidence. In all of a sudden, it was like my heart had stopped beating and I remembered I immediately grasped the said grasshopper in my face and threw it away. Gosh!

What an amazing shot! So sharp and colorful. Please tell me that you were unharmed and the creature lived? :o)

I must admit he looks quite creepy up close! No wonder you don't like them very much...

You got some great photos of the grasshopper, especially since you have an aversion to them. I don't like insects of any kind to be on my person, but they are interesting to watch. Nice "G" post.

Insects can be frightening that way! I myself have a fear of spiders. You have captured this Grasshopper very well, and it's perfect for ABC Wed.

Grasshoppers are, to me, like bats and snakes - they are wonderful, except in the house or in my face. Great post!

Beautiful shot. What did you use 60 mm? 50? 1:8?

Sorry...just impressed and curious>

That must have been a horrible fright for you! I like insects myself, and I find grasshoppers quite lovely, but I understand fears.

Beautiful pictures!

Thanks for leaving your comments here. For those who were asking, I only used a Point n' Shoot camera (Canon PowerShot S3iS) in an automatic settings.

NOT a grasshopper--it's a katydid! And the males make a loud clicking noise to attract the gals. I kinda like these guys singing at the end of summer.
