- Are too busy to spend time alone with God.
- Become too busy to spend at least one relaxed evening a week with their spouse and family.
- Feel they deserve more attention that they are getting at home.
- Feel that the romance seems to be fading.
- Begin to flirt with members of the opposite sex.
- Enjoy fantasizing about an illicit relationship.
- Dismiss scriptural guidance under the pretense of “I would never…”
- Become more sensitive to criticism, get defensive easily, and become more competitive and less cooperative.

So far so good (touchwood) but as both of us are students pursuing PhDs, it is definitely taking a toll on our family life.
