Benefits from Lemon Tea

We should take lemon in tea as it has many good benefits to our body. According to health mag, a dash of lemon juice could enhance the health benefits of green tea, according to a US study. Researchers tested citrus juices, milk and other substances often added to tea by putting them through a model simulating human digestion. The aim was to test their effect on catechins, naturally occurring antioxidants in the tea, and results suggest that citrus juices increase the catechins available for the body to absorb. Lemon juice seemed most effective as an additive, followed by orange, lime and grapefruit juices, but more research is needed.

Green tea is believed to help reduce the risk of cancer, heart attack and stroke, and catechins may play an important role in its health-promoting qualities. Although this study only involved green tea, it is thought some of the results could apply to black tea, which has lower levels of catechins.
