
Whole-grain foods are rich in fiber, which benefits the body in a number of ways. One of my favorite vegetable grain is Patani or lima beans (Phaseolus Lunatus Linn). I use to eat this, because my mom keeps on planting "Patani" in our backyard. I know every Filipino is familiar with this term because of the "Bahay Kubo" song. Eating this food or the whole-grain provides energy and its fiber helps reduce blood cholesterol levels and may lower risk your heart disease. Fiber is also good for the digestive system; it helps keep you regular, reduces constipation, and keeps you fuller longer. So what are you waiting for? Include these grains in your diet and these will make you healthier, more beautiful you. But don't consume too much of this if you are having gout problems like arthritis or rheumatism.
